We offer FREE personal tax preparation for low-income, English-limited individuals and families. Here's how you know if you qualify:

Don't forget to bring the following:
If filing status is “Married filing jointly”, both are required to attend.
Federal or Government-issued Photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID/Passport) for taxpayer and spouse (if applicable)
ORIGINAL (NOT photocopied or written down number) Social Security Card or ITIN letter for anyone listed on tax return, including dependents
Only exception if taxpayer is a previous client and brings in a paper copy of tax return showing we did their return previously
If you've been a victim of identity theft, IRS will issue an Identity Protection Pin (IP PIN). We cannot process your tax return without this PIN.

Congratulations! You completed E-filing; now what?
It takes about 24-48 hours for IRS and California Franchise Tax Board to review your tax return. During the processing period, there is no need to call us to check on your return status.In most cases, it takes about 21 calendar days or less for IRS to issue refund. We WILL NOT call you if your return is being approved. To check your refund status, please visit www.irs.gov/refunds.

One of our VITA Team members will reach out to you via e-mail and calls for additional information. We will provide further instructions to you and assist you with the process. It is imperative that taxpayer(s) respond in a timely matter. It is expected that taxpayer(s) respond to any communication efforts by the CSC VITA staff within two business days of receipt of a call or email.
